Team 5104 is a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team from Pacific Grove, California, known as the BreakerBots. Coach Roby Hyde started the team in 2013 with the goal of providing a welcoming space for students who shared an interest in STEM. Since then, the team has grown to about 4 mentors and 18 active students, with approximately 1/3 of them women. The team's focus has expanded beyond science as well; they now have students working on business, project management, communications, art, and team spirit.

Although the BreakerBots meet year-round, their busiest time begins in January when the team has just two months to design, build, and program a robot that can compete in a specifically designed robot game. They typically enter two regional competitions in the Silicon Valley area each year and have qualified for the FIRST World Championships in Houston, Texas twice.
